Description

In this talk, I will give a comprehensive introduction about what “Data Engineering” is and how we do it. Based on different categories of use cases, transactional, analytical, how could data system design adapts for them. And will share some of the major the challenges in practice, for data ingestion under high throughput, timeliness delivery, optimization for interactive queries, and objectives for service operations.

Ansel Lin, joined Treasure Data Tokyo as Senior Data Engineer from 2020. Prior to Treasure Data, he has worked in Rakuten’s Data Platform Department, ABEJA (a Tokyo based data science solution start-up), Bridgewell (a Taipei based digital advertising company) as Data Engineer. And by working in these positions, he has accumulated data engineering experience from several aspects, ex. building data ingestion pipelines, data warehouse infrastructure, OLAP engine, data cube modeling for Business Intelligence, and data workflows management.
